“Rumble-Grumble Storm” Published In HIGHLIGHTS

 In Announcements, Magazines, Poetry, Writing

My poem “Rumble-Grumble Storm” is in this month’s issue of Highlights For Children. This was one of my favorite magazines as a child. Many people have fond memories of reading it in the doctor’s or dentist’s office, but I was lucky enough to have my own subscription delivered to my home. The popular children’s magazine has actually been around since 1946, and yes, it’s still being published today. In fact, they’ve recently added two new magazines to their family: Highlights High Five for preschoolers and Highlights Hello for toddlers. The original magazine is geared toward elementary school-age children.

Congratulations on this publication, Neal. “Rumble-Grumble Storm” beautifully evokes those dramatic summer thunderstorms. I’m also a big fan of the Highlights family of magazines. Great stuff!

Congratulations, Neal! I like “lightning lightens up my room.” It makes the storm fun and interesting, instead of scary.
