“Festival of Lights” Published In LADYBUG
My poem “Festival of Lights” is in this month’s issue of Ladybug, an award-winning magazine for children 3-6 years old who love stories and adventure. The heartwarming illustration was done by Rahele Jomepour Bell, a highly talented artist originally from Iran.
The poem commemorates Hanukkah, also known as the Festival of Lights. This Jewish holiday is a celebration of light during the darkest period of the year. The candles on the menorah symbolize a miracle that happened long ago, joy in the present, and hope for the future.
This is my first time being published in Ladybug, which is part of the Cricket Media family of literary magazines (commonly referred to as the Bug magazines) which also includes Babybug, Spider, and Cricket, each for a slightly different age group.
