“Earthworms” Published In BABYBUG

 In Announcements, Magazines, Poetry, Writing

My poem “Earthworms” is in this month’s issue of Babybug, a magazine for very young children ages 0-3. This magazine, which is printed on sturdy card stock material, presents short stories, poems, nonfiction, and playful activities that can be read aloud to infants and toddlers, introducing them to simple concepts and experiences they are just beginning to understand. “Earthworms” presents the idea of worms  appearing after it rains. The artwork was beautifully done by Paula Pang.

This was my first time being published in a magazine specifically for babies. Babybug is part of the Cricket Media family of literary magazines (commonly referred to as the Bug magazines) which also includes Ladybug, Spider, and Cricket, each for a slightly different age group.

I love this, Neal. It’s cute, it’s bouncy — and it’s accurate nonfiction. That’s not easy to do! Nice. And congrats on your first “baby” poem!

Thank you for sharing this! Your poem gives even the youngest child something interesting to think about, in an “opposites” sort of way- it’s wonderful! And the illustrator did a fine job, too (love the worm on the scooter).
